About Huatulco Bays

The nine different bays that National Park of Huatulco Bay has, are under preservation, and consist on several beautiful beaches, most of them with quiet and greenish waters and an amazing marine richness, reason to rank this destination as one of the most famous ones in the country. Huatulco Bay is located south Oaxaca’s state, in the coast zone, where the South Sierra Madre culminates. “Huatulco”, as it has been normally known by, is located between the rivers Coyula and Copalita outfalls, extending over 35 km of the Pacific Ocean seaboard.

Each one of the bays has its own unique charm, also is virtually impossible visiting one of them without touring near or inside another one. Tangolunda Bay is the one that has the most prestigious hotels, with modern shopping malls and a golf course; Santa Cruz bay has at the La Entrega and Yerbabuena beaches reasons to be one of the most attractive ones in all Huatulco; Conejos bay offers four ideal beaches for scuba diving and fishing; Chahue bay takes care of the low profile tourist lodging; Maguey and Organo bays are two bays practically united and with a great ecological richness; Chachacual bay has two virgin beaches which only access to them is by boat; San Agustin is a bay with a great number of reefs for scuba diving, also the island with the same name is the biggest one in the whole territory; Cacaluta is a bay wide open on a heart shape, that’s why its landscapes are very valued by plastic artists; and Riscalillo’s bay possessing an incredible ecological variety, and which access also is only by boat from Santa Cruz bay.

There is nothing more romantic but taking a sail boat tour during the afternoon, or touring the nine bays on a yacht. Is normal to see the kids playing by the beach shores or making sand castles; adults also stroll calmly by the shores, either on their bare feet, riding a horse, riding a bike or an ATV through perfectly well shaped trails.
